Dr Kavita has been a doctor for 15+ years. She loves all facets of medicine but has a specialised interest in children and women’s health. Before becoming a GP, she worked for 6 years in Paediatrics at the Sydney Children’s Hospital Network including Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU) at the RHW. She has also completed a Diploma of Child Health with UNSW.

Dr Kavita is also a Lactation Consultant and member of the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine. She is experienced in the model of Neuroprotective Developmental Care and is a Possums NDC Practitioner. She is also certified in the Thompson Breastfeeding method. She is passionate about improving breastfeeding support and education. She is a Shared Antenatal Care provider with RPA, RHW, Concord, Canterbury and RNSH.

Dr Kavita has over 10 years’ experience in assessment and management of tongue tie (Ankyloglossia) from her time on the post-natal wards at RHW Randwick and in the community.

She also provides free evidence-based information about breastfeeding on www.letstalkbreastfeeding.com as well as Instagram - @breastfeedingwithdrkavita

She loves helping parents navigate the labyrinth of Infant medicine in those first 2 years.

Outside of medicine, she has a strong interest in the nature, martial arts and social justice.
